Night Land Navigation

This is very similar to our regular Land Navigation class, but at night! Night vision is preferred (with rentals available from Send Nods) but a red light headlamp or flashlight is ok as well. It is recommended that you have some land navigation experience prior to taking this class, as everything that is covered in our regular Land Nav class will not be covered here. The basics will be reviewed, though.

Students will review basic land navigation techniques, as well as map reading, then go on to find 3 points using only night vision or red light.

• weather appropriate clothing
• good boots or trail shoes
• compass (lensatic or baseplate, commenga with tritium HIGHLY recommended)
• protractor with 1:24,000 scale
• note taking materials
• water
• snacks
• clear eye protection
